Liberty Bell Status! UPDATED

Bell Damage Assesment
As promised here is an assessment of the Bell and the trailer;
Bell Damage;
-
Mounting Bearings were destroyed
-
Minor wooden yoke damage
-
Yoke u-bolts have shifted
-
Yoke steel bearing mount shifted .5 inch
-
Bell display frame is bent
Current Bell Status
-
We have ordered the bearing mounts; they are currently on there way to us. Thanks to Purvis Bearing for donating the mounts.
-
The yoke damage is minor and repairs will begin asap.

The
Bell display frame is being repaired and will be ready to proudly hold the Bell soon.
Trailer Damage;

The trailer was damaged beyond repair
Current trailer Status
-
We are currently looking for replacement trailers now that will meet the requirements for the
Bell display.

Thank you for all that you and this Bell do!!! I have been to many PGR events/rides and you are there everytime. My prayers for your safe recovery and that of the other driver are and continue to be said. I also pray that the Bell and truck and trailer can be back in service soon. Everytime I see this Bell I have tears in my eyes!! Thank you for all that you stand for.

Thanks for getting the mechanism up and running for us to contribute. I hope all who have been blessed by David and the Bell will pitch in, and help get both back on the road.
David has unselfishly done so much for so many. It’s time for the rest of us to step up and help him.

I am amazed at how quickly you’re recovering - I’m so glad. All the kids want to come see you soon, especially Elisabeth! Matthew wants to know what a drunk driver is! I told him that you would explain it later. Benjamin thought the pictures were cool.

David, glad to see the good reports on you health. Any estimate on the cost to repair the bell? What about the deductible on your truck and trailer? Surely we can help defray those expenses, in small repayment for all the good you have done in honoring our troops and first responders.

Thank you LORD for watching over OUR hero David! This man is a walking disciple in my book. I’m so happy to hear that you are doing well and steps have been taken to get the bell back on track. I apologize I wasn’t able to be in the escort home but know my heart was with you. Ava Marie sends her best and has made you a get well card that I will try to mail out asap. Thank you David for you, your family, your ministry and all you do for our brothers and sisters in arms. You are a true american hero!

I’ve heard this bell at numerous PGR Missions. Just thinking back to those missions, and the sound of that bell ringing to this day sends chills down my back. To me, the sound of the Bell is a reminder of those who gave their life so that I can be free.

Dear David,
Your faith is exemplified by your great works. We were greatly saddened to hear of the tragic accident to you and the Liberty Bell and Ten Commandments float yet gladdened to see your quick recovery and repairs being made to the float. Many at the
Louisville and Flora IL parades in Oct ‘04 say when that bell resonated, hair stood up on backs of their necks. The events were given excellent coverage by WNOI TV. Just two hours prior to joining the Louisville parade you and your float were at the Paris, IL Armory 100 miles distant, honoring six fallen soldiers killed in Iraq. With that tight schedule we didn’t think you could make it, but you did. Now, The newly formed Illinois Women Veterans Group are honoring POW & MIA’s on Flag Day June 14, 2008 with a patriotic-themed parade beginning at 10:30 a.m. in downtown Flora. They said it would be a great honor to have you and the float in the parade. Anyhow, God bless you David for your outstanding patriotism. Obviously, God is not through with you on this earth yet!

Thanks for bringing the bell over to Purvis Industries in Ft. Worth last week. It was a great opportunity to donate the bearings to you and your cause. The Liberty Bell rides on Purvis Bearings for sure.

I had one of the most moving experiences of my entire life this morning in Wylie when I was there to wave to the National Guard leaving for Iraq. The Liberty bell pulled in across the street and to see the bell and the ten commandments made me feel so wonderful. The bell was tolling when the three busses full to National Guard drove by. I was touched beyond explanation. I will cherish that moment forever! Thank you so much for this experience. May God Blss you all.

Hello,From Midland, TX. would you be able to tell or teach us how to construct a Ten Comandment monument,or hire out to build it for us. I say us , We hear at Southwest Baptist Church are interested in promoting Liberty , Patiotism and Gods Laws for mankind to live by.
We have a idea what we want to do , it calls for a ten foot high double tablet as authenic as can be made surrounded by U.S. flags and the varius Armed Services. I have to commend you on the job you did on your commandments they really look good. I assume your very busy, and after the wreck I hope fully recovered. Your an inspiration to us all just seeing you go down the road.

Thank you for making a special trip to my grandmother’s home to allow her to ring the bell on the evening of my grandfather’s funeral. He was a WWII POW and passed away on June 5th at the age of 89. She was so happy to have an opportunity to ring the bell in honor of her husband of 70 years.

I want to thank you for what you do to promote our symbol of liberty. Your presence at so many fallen patriot funerals in the Texas area brings peace and honor to these families who hear her ring. Your dedication brings great pride to we who stand with flags and escort them. We’re noisy and you (and your efforts) are the “diamond among thorns” - both standing for those who were willing to stand for us. Somehow fitting in this - The land of the free. My son, PFC Peter Kyle Cross (age20) was laid to rest July 3, 2009 in Ft. Worth following his death on June 26, 2009 in Afghanistan. Peter loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and sacrificed his summers to provide some basic needs to the less fortunate in various countries. I didn’t prompt Peter to do this and he gathered his own support to fulfill this calling. Likewise, YOU have dedicated YOUR life to honoring those who have fallen while fighting for the freedom of our country. No one asked you to do this and you rely on the support of others to fulfill your calling. When our lips are silenced by grief, the toll of your Liberty Bell fills our hearts with melodious comfort and peace. “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit:a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.” Psalm 57:17 Your heart breaks each time you honor our loved ones. God give you His comfort and strength in your endeavor. Thank you.

Thank you so much for taking the time to travel to Oklahoma to have your bell at the funeral of my dear friend’s brother who lost his life in the November 5th Ft. Hood tragedy. Hearing the bell toll was amazing, and I still get chills thinking about it and sharing it with others. I think it meant so much for my friend to be able to ring that bell for her brother. Thank you for what you do…

David, I was real saddened at hearing of your accident. I belong to a veterans group here in Panama City, Fl. and we are trying to put things together to have a traveling bell here in our area. What you are doing is amazing and we know you cannot cover the whole United States, so we decided that what you are doing needs to be shared with as many people as possible.I would really like to correspond with you on doing everything the right way.
